When you type your salary or profit numbers into a calculator, it feels personal. That is why we designed UK Finance Tools with a "Zero-Knowledge" architecture. Unlike banks or fintech apps that require you to create an account, this site operates as a static toolset. We do not ask for your name, we do not require a login, and we have physically disabled the ability for our servers to save your calculator inputs.
The "Privacy Tax" Strategy
In the digital economy, "free" usually means "you are the product." Financial sites typically monetize by building detailed user profiles to sell to lenders or insurers.
We reject this model. We pay a "Privacy Tax"—we refuse to use behavioural tracking or data harvesting, even though that profiling is how most free finance sites make money. The site currently carries no advertising and runs no behavioural ad networks. If we ever introduce monetisation, it will be limited to contextual (non-tracking) advertising or clearly-marked affiliate links, and this policy will be updated before any such change goes live.
Data Safety Matrix
We believe in radical transparency regarding what happens to your data.
| Data Type | Status | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| Personally Identifiable Info (Name, Email) | Not Collected by Tools | N/A (newsletter is opt-in only — see below) |
| Financial Inputs (Salary, Profit) | Session-Only | Browser RAM Only (Cleared on refresh) |
| Usage Analytics (Pageviews) | Anonymised | Google Analytics 4 (Aggregated) |
| Newsletter Email (only if you subscribe) | Consent-Based | beehiiv (US) — opt-in, unsubscribe anytime |
Infrastructure & Compliance
To ensure security and compliance, we rely on industry-standard infrastructure partners rather than building proprietary systems:
- Hosting: The site is hosted via Namecheap (United Kingdom/US), utilizing standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all connections.
- Content Delivery & Security: The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes each request (including your IP address) to provide CDN caching, performance and security/DDoS protection. Cloudflare acts as a data processor for these connections.
- Consent Management: We use Cookiebot to manage your consent preferences. You can withdraw permission for non-essential cookies at any time via the widget in the bottom corner.
- Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation enabled. This tells us how many people visited a page, but not who they are.
Email Newsletter & International Data Transfers
If you subscribe to our email updates, we process the personal data you provide (your email address, and any name you give us) together with engagement data—such as whether you open or click our emails, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and device information—for the sole purpose of sending you the updates you have requested. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
Our newsletters are operated using beehiiv, Inc. (“beehiiv”), a service provider based in the United States, acting as our data processor. This means your personal data is transferred to and stored in the United States. As the United States is outside the UK, this transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards required by UK data protection law—specifically the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, which forms part of our agreement with beehiiv. You can request a copy of these safeguards by contacting us.
We do not sell your data and do not use it for any purpose other than sending the updates you subscribed to. You have the right to access, correct or erase your data and to unsubscribe at any time. To exercise any of these rights, use the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us at [email protected].
